New Heathland Course in Surrey

David Kidd, the Scottish architect of the award-winning Bandon Dunes course in Oregon, has designed a new heathland layout at Queenwood Golf Club, Ottershaw in Surrey.

It is the first course to be built by Barrelfield whose previous golf developments have all been undertaken as management projects.

"Queenwood was the ideal opportunity we had been waiting for to create a
dream construction," said Mel Thomas, managing director of Barrelfield. "It's
a very special and unique development and the client wanted a totally
committed and expert team to build the course.

"With the team we have created, our valuable experience of project managing
developments successfully, and with Queenwood on our CV, we are hoping to be
considered for other new construction opportunities - not only in the UK but
throughout Europe."
