IT'S
A LONG WAY TO BOOK A FAIRWAY
Golfers
from around the globe can now book their tee-time at one of Merseyside's
championships courses through a new online booking service.
Eight
courses in the region have signed up to the project with free
computers, ISDN lines and training providing through the Merseyside
ADAPT 2000 project, a European-funded initiative to introduce
SMEs to internet technology.
Coupled
with the Golf Agent software, the clubs can now offer golfers
from anywhere in the world the cream of Sefton's courses through
the web site at www.golf-england.co.uk.
Golfers
can book tee times around the clock and access up to date information
from courses and facilities to the dress code. Information about
competition booking and results and on line handicap updates are
also available.
"The
Sefton Coast is renowned worldwide for the excellent variety and
standard of all the courses and the area is in demand. With this
new service golfers can now investigate the course and decide
where they want to play before they even arrive in the area."
The
new system has been implemented at Royal Birkdale, Formby, Southport
and Ainsdale, Hesketh, Formby Hall, West Lancs and Formby Ladies.
