TREVOSE
GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB
– CELEBRATING 75 YEARS
Trevose
Golf and Country Club celebrates its 75th anniversary
in 2000. The club, which
is situated on one of the most beautiful stretches of the North
Coast of Cornwall, was built in 1925.
Trevose
was one of the world’s first self-catering golf courses, established
long before the concept developed in popular golfing destinations
such as Spain and Portugal.
It
offers some of the best golfing in the West Country on three courses;
a championship course (6608 yards) which was laid out by Harry
Colt, a nine hole full length course (3000 yards) and a nine hole
short course for beginners or less advanced players.
The
range of courses offered at Trevose make it the ideal holiday
destination for both serious golfers and casual golfers looking
to improve their game. Garry
Alliss, the club’s resident Professional and Vice Captain, is
available for coaching either on an individual basis or as part
of a small group.
It
is also the perfect location for family holidays, situated just
a few minutes easy stroll from some of Cornwall’s most popular
surfing beaches including Booby’s Bay and Constantine Bay. Accommodation is available in self-catering
flats and bungalows and the club welcomes families and groups.
In
addition to the three golf courses, the club has 3 tennis courts,
a heated swimming pool and snooker room as well as a friendly
clubhouse and restaurant which overlook the three courses and
the magnificent Atlantic coastline beyond.
Trevose
is ideally situated to explore some of north Cornwall’s local
attractions including some beautiful walks along the coastline
to Harlyn Bay or by car you can explore the wild beauty of Bodmin
Moor. Additionally Tintagel
Castle is just a half hour drive away, nestled in the lush green
hills across from Port Isaac Bay.
However
one of north Cornwall’s most popular attractions is without doubt
Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant just a short drive into the town
of Padstow. Trevose has
a preferential arrangement that its guests will be able to reserve
a table at the legendary seafood restaurant.
