Airlines
Crucial to Golf Tourist
There is nothing
more frustrating to the travelling golfer than finding your golf
umbrella is bent, or your favourite club has been broken in transit.
Or worse, finding out that you have arrived at the airport but your
clubs haven't and you're teeing off in one hour.
Maersk Air,
Denmark's major private airline, is one carrier which pays special
attention to the needs of the golf traveller. The airline has joined
forces with the Danish Tourist Board and the Golf Travel Club to
promote value for money packages for golf breaks in Denmark. Great
care is taken to ensure the trips gets off to the right start -
by getting the golf clubs to the right destination and intact! Once
golf clubs are checked in they are delivered to the aircraft via
baggage chutes specially designed to take this kind of baggage.
Barry Prior
of Maersk Air UK, comments: "Golf in Denmark is becoming increasingly
popular with UK golfers. We have a responsibility towards its continued
development from the outset by taking steps to ensure the safe delivery
of all golf clubs that we carry. We would always recommend using
a golf travel bag, but we have even carried golf bags with the heads
just secured with a carrier bag!"
Golf packages
to Jutland start from £279 per person based on two sharing
at the four star Hotel Louisiana in Silkeborg, including return
flights, car hire and breakfast. Golf is extra but costs from £19
per day. Call Golf Travel Club on 0800 018 6100.
