ALYTH GOLF
DESK
Alyth is one
Scotland’s many hidden treasures of golf. In 1933 the famous architect
James Braid was called in to upgrade the 13-hole course to 18 holes.
It opened the following year and has changed very little in the
intervening years. Visitors will find a mixture of heathland and
parkland on this rolling layout and a host of other fine golf courses
in the area around it.
The Alyth Golf
Desk has been set up to help visitors reap the great golfing rewards
to be found in this area of Scotland. The Golf Desk can arrange
play on twelve featured courses including Taymouth Castle, Gleneagles,
Edzell. Monifieth, Downfield and the historic links of Montrose
as well as more than 60 courses within a one hour drive of Alyth.
It can also
arrange places at Colin Smith’s Golf Academy at Strathmore which
features Midweek Golf Schools for players of all abilities. Class
sizes are kept to a maximum of six players. Cost of a midweek school
starts at £345 including accommodation, all tuition fees and three
rounds of golf.
