Brittany
Ferries' Golfing Breaks in South West France
With the wettest
winter on record behind us now, golfers will be keen to dust down
their clubs and brush up their golfing skills as soon as possible.
All thoughts
of waterlogged courses can be left behind when heading off to the
drier climate of the Aquitaine
region of France where Brittany Ferries offer a range of golf holiday
packages. There is a choice of high standard courses to choose from
in the Bordeaux and Biarritz areas combined with good value hotels.
Golf
du Medoc, north of Bordeaux has ben competed to a Scottish Links
course and is one of the top golf venues in Europe where the long
par 4s make it a real challenge. Alternatively Golf
de Bordeaux-Pessac in the heart of the wine country bordered
by the Landes forest pine trees has wide rolling fairways and greens
defended by huge bunkers.
Other courses
in the area include Golf
de Seignosse, one of the greatest courses in Europe with fairways
winding through a huge valley bordered by pines and natural water
hazards. Also in this programme is Golf
de Moliets designed by Robert Trent Jones, which has hosted
many prestigious golf championships.
The clubhouses
all have good restaurants so after a round of golf some French cuisine
and fines wines can be savoured before the real golfing die-hards
head out for another round.
Brittany Ferries'
golf programme includes return ferry travel with car and a green
fee for every night's stay in France. A three night stay at the
three star Golf
Hotel Blue Green at the heart of the Seignosse golf course,
north of Biarritz, costs just £256 per person up to 30 June.
Tee times can be pre-booked at the chosen courses.
