HICKORY
TRAIL
Anyone who has
wondered what it must have been like to play golf in the days of
Old Tom Morris and Allan Robertson now has the opportunity to find
out at the Hickory Trail of Scotland.
A seven-day
hickory golf tour takes visitors on a journey back in time playing
with hickory clubs and gutta percha balls on a selection of Scotland’s
finest links courses. The week includes light-hearted presentations
and talks with golf historians Alfie and Harry Ward.
Among the courses
included in this interesting programme are the World Heritage Golf
Links at Arbory Brae Golf Course, still in its 1892 original layout,
North Berwick and the historic Musselburgh Links, an early venue
for the Open Championship. Crail, Cruden Bay and Nairn are also
on the schedule.
Prices for the
week are £1244 per person for an non-escorted tour up to £1468 per
person for an escorted party of 9 or more. Packages available through
Golf and Fish Scotland Ltd www.golfandfishsco.co.uk.
