SCOTLAND:
SOUTHWEST GOLF TRAILS
The Southwest
of Scotland is one of the country’s most beautiful regions and for
the golfer it harbours a treasure trove of great courses from Open
Championship links like Turnberry, Royal Troon and the original
Open course, Prestwick, to gems like Shiskine on the Isle of Arran
or the lovely inland course at Ayr Belleisle.
Scottish Golf
Southwest has published its official guide to the region with a
host of valuable information on where to play including a review
of "Island Gems" and a particularly interesting look at
"Golf Trails". The "Tiger Tour" features courses
suitable for single figure handicap players and includes Southerness
on the Solway Firth, the Ailsa Course and the new Kintyre Course
at Turnberry, Brunston Castle and Ayr Belleisle.
The "Scenic
Tour" includes Moffat Golf Club, Brighouse Bay, Dumfries and
County. Lochmaben and Lockerbie and the two fine courses at Largs,
Routenburn G.C. and Largs G.C. For further details check out
