The
Hotel Royal is located on the coast of Normandy in the centre of
the town of Deauville. Synonymous with horseracing, movie stars
and glamour, the Hotel Royal is the ideal base for visiting the
horse sales from August to November, polo matches and the casino.
Built
in 1913 to appeal to the luxury traveller, the Hotel Royal is a
majestic 'Belle Époque'-style building which overlooks the sea and
the surrounding countryside. Accommodation is in 273 rooms, including
23 suites, many of which have been named after famous visitors like
Robert Mitchum, Lauren Bacall, and Robert De Niro.
L'Étrier
restaurant offers a relaxed setting to sample the sophisticated
marriage of the cuisines of Normandy and Provence. L'Étrier bar
is an informal setting for a quick lunch or dinner and a good place
to sample the hotel's excellent Champagne cellar.
Deauville
Casino offers French and English roulette tables, blackjack and
punto-banco. The horseracing and showjumping season starts in May
and continues until October at the Touques and Clairefontaine racecourses.
Deauville is also the polo capital of France and the season lasts
throughout August.

From 1st May until 2nd July, prices start from 1600FFR for a double
country view room and from 1800FFR for a double seaview room. From
3rd July until 17th September, high season prices apply. Prices
are based on a per room per night basis, exclusive of meals and
a 7FFR per person, per night tax.
