Travel specialists
PerryGolf have been named American 'official travel provider' for
the 2000 Solheim Cup at Loch Lomond in October 2000.
The firm, founded
in 1984, earned the backing of the Ladies' European Tour after being
voted tour operatior of the year in the Hertz International Golf
Travel Awards.
LET commercial
director Hugh Roberts said: "We expect a large contingent of American
fans for the Solheim Cup and I have no doubt PerryGolf will look
after their every need. They will provide a service that will make
the Solheim Cup a truly memorable occasion for our American visitors."
Perry Golf spokesman,
the former Scottish Walker Cup player Colin Dalgleish, said: "We
specialise in outbound travel from the US and our sister company
InterGolf has an office in Atlanta.
"The Ryder Cup
has generated great interest in competition between Europe and the
United States and the fact the Solheim Cup is at Loch Lomond will
make for a very exciting event.
"We are looking
forward to putting together different trips and use our knowledge
of the general logistics of what people are trying to do when they
come over here.
"In the past
we've chartered a ship to the British Open and for next year's Open
we have chartered the Royal Scotsman train. We also have a fleet
of VIP coaches with armchair comfort - individual solutions for
the discerning travelling golfer."
