SYDNEY:
The Home of Five Rings and 216 Great Holes.
Moore Park Golf Club
 |
The
closest layout to the city hotels is Moore Park Golf Club.
It is about £3 in a cab from the CBD and for that reason it
is, without doubt, the busiest public course in Sydney. Despite
that fact, the course remains in a surprisingly good condition
year round. The layout has undergone major redesign during the
|
| past
ten years and barely resembles the course that lay in the same
neighbourhood as the Sydney Cricket Ground for more than 60
years. The changes have transformed the course from a good public
course to one worthy of higher praise. |
Moore
Park also boasts a 60 bay, three-tiered driving range that is open
until 9.30pm seven days a week. The management will not take tee
time bookings more than seven days in advance and some days will
be affected by the Olympic men's and women's marathon as well as
road race cycling which will pass by the front door.
No
more than 10 minutes drive south of Moore Park is the Bonnie
Doon Golf Club – a real slice of English heathland
golf.
